GitHub says Copilot Fusion is generally available. Instead of choosing a model for each task, you select Fusion and it decides which models to use and how they work together. There are three effort levels, Standard, High and Max, and three workflows, Single, Cascade and Critique.

Fusion is available on all Copilot plans in Visual Studio Code, the GitHub Copilot app, the Copilot CLI and JetBrains IDEs. GitHub bills each model Fusion uses at that model's standard rate, and says paid plans get a 30% discount on model costs for a limited time.

GitHub says Fusion Max scored 60 on the Artificial Analysis Coding Agent Index, within two points of Claude Code with Opus 5.5 Max; that is GitHub's own account.
