Microsoft AI announced on 1 October 2026 the launch of MAI-Transcribe-2-Streaming, and two new voice models, MAI-Voice-2.1 and MAI-Voice-2.1-Flash.

MAI-Transcribe-2-Streaming delivers real-time transcripts in 60 languages, with automatic, continuous language detection, at an introductory price of $0.54 per hour of audio through the end of the year. Microsoft says it produces its first partial transcripts in just over 100ms of receiving audio.

Microsoft says it ranks no. 1 for accuracy on Artificial Analysis, a ranking that is Microsoft's own statement. MAI-Voice-2.1 supports 23 languages and 26 locales and is priced at $22 per 1M characters, and MAI-Voice-2.1-Flash is priced at $15 per 1M characters.

Microsoft lists all three models in Microsoft Foundry, and says they are also available through the MAI Playground, Vercel and Azure Voice Live.
