OpenAI says teens on ChatGPT for Teens spend under 15 minutes a day on average
OpenAI's 7 October post reports its own usage figures for the under-18 experience and says College Planner is coming to it.

OpenAI says teens spend under 15 minutes a day on ChatGPT on average, and that less than 2% spend more than three consecutive hours.
The ChatGPT for Teens experience includes built-in break reminders. OpenAI says that in almost half of teen conversations with a break reminder, the teen took a break or ended the conversation within five minutes. In one week nearly 1.2 million teens used Learning Visualizations and more than 180,000 used Study Mode, according to OpenAI.
OpenAI also said College Planner is coming to ChatGPT for teens, and that it will support Boston Children's Hospital's Digital Wellness Lab and its Student Advisory Council over the next three years. These are OpenAI's own figures and plans, not an outside review.
